Why do scientists do Animal Testing?

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

We've been talking about animal testing and that it's a horrible practice, but why do scientists really do animal testing?

Scientists do animal testing so they can see if a substance is dangerous for humans. Many people think it's safe and that the results are reliable and accurate. Unfortunately, this is untrue, animal testing is not as accurate as you would think. We have mentioned this many times in our blogs; animals and humans are not similar enough to determine the result of something with the results of the other species. Scientists also conduct human trials to be sure that the products don't harm anyone but if there were going to be human trials, why were there animal trials in the first place?

Obviously to make sure that the human trials would be safe and people wouldn't get harmed in the process but have you ever thought about the poor animals? At least humans get to volunteer, the animals don't even have a choice. The are forced to accompany scientists in their cruel laboratories. You might think that this is all for improving humanity and if we give technology time we won't even have to do animal testing, but we already have other options. Technology has improved enough that, if our scientists are ready to move on, animal testing won't even be a problem. If we can raise our voices enough to get the scientists to change to animal-cruelty-free laboratories, then that will be the day that humanity is truly improving for the better.
